Worn-out clutch shoes can negatively impact the performance of the clutch and cause an engine to intermittently flame out even when tuned properly. This decreases a vehicle's overall performance and can cause headaches at the track. 

Measure the life your clutch shoes with this Factory Team "Go or No Go" style gauge from Team Associated. When the tool is placed over the clutch shoes and rotated in the direction of the arrows, the smallest internal measurement profile of the gauge, 23.40mm, determines if the shoes are too worn - with new shoes, it will turn only slightly (left photo); with worn shoes it will turn more (right photo). If the shoes are smaller than the tool, replace the shoes for optimal performance. The tool works with a complete clutch assembly either installed or uninstalled on an engine. This eliminates the need for expensive measuring devices such as calipers or micrometers. Checking the health of your clutch has never been easier!
